The Sour Mash Hug Band is an eclectic, acoustic dance band that plays everything from Romanian couple dances to Appalachian Hymns to Klezmer to Harlem swing, They are especially known for their original tunes reminiscent of Kurt Weill and Danny Elfman. The band started in Eugene, OR as an old-time band with the classic line-up of claw-hammer banjo, fiddle, guitar, and bass.
